Chucuaco (Pavones)

Just south of Pavones, and between La PiƱa and La Nicaragua, is a section of beach known as “Chucuaco”, which is named after a type of bird that lives in the area. It’s approximately halfway between Pavones and Punta Banco.

Epicly beautiful, like all these beaches south of the Pavones surf spot and Rio Claro, El Chucuaco offers several great surf spots. There are many rocks too, which can be hazardous, but you should be able to find some clear sections between them.

The walk to this area, from the Pavones center is 15 minutes or so, and you won’t find much here in the way of lodging or food… just lots of palm trees and waves.
