Ollie’s Point Surf Camp is a surf school located in the famous surf point of Guanacaste province, Ollie’s Point. Named after the former US Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel, Oliver North, the surf point features consistent world class waves attracting numerous surf enthusiasts from all over the world. The surf destination is accessible only through a boat ride which can be rented at Playa Del Coco and Playa Ocotal. Ollie’s Point Surf Camp provides an ultimate opportunity to experience the various wonders of Costa Rica such as riding the waves, snorkeling, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, kayaking, waterfall hikes, eco jungle tours, and so much more. The camp’s main pursuit is surfing and they offer daily surf tours to Ollie’s Point and Witch’s Rock for groups of 2 to 8 people. If you prefer to go on a private tour, it can also be arranged. The camp also offers comfortable and affordable accommodations.
Surf Charters, Lessons, and Guided Eco-Tours
Ollie’s Point Surf Camp offers three different options for your holiday in Costa Rica. There are surfing sessions for all ages, levels and skill. The classes can be held in small groups or privately. The camp has a full day surf trip charters to Ollie’s Point, Witch’s Rock Tamarindo, Playa Avellanas , Playa Grande and to some other popular areas. The surf sessions include a 45 minutes long introduction to surfing on the beach such as position on a surfboard, paddling, balance control, ocean safety, pre-surf warm up routine, equipment usage and maintenance followed by 180 minutes in the ocean where students get to practice standing up on the board without falling off, paddling in the water, facing rip tides and currents, and how to pick up the waves and ride them correctly. For guided eco tours, there are many options for the activities such as trips to volcano craters, zip lining or canopy tours, waterfall trips, horseback riding on the beach and the list goes on!
Accommodations for Surfers and Friends
The camp has a beach front villa which is designed with Mediterranean style. It is charming two story house that can sleep up to 17 people. The ground floor has studio rooms which are ideal for couples. Each room is appointed with a double or queen sized bed and has a private bathroom. There is a large kitchen which is fully equipped with various amenities including a BBQ grill and two separate dining areas. Some of the facilities include a cabled television set, a dressing table with a chair, in room safe, a cordless phone, wireless internet, and access to the swimming pool.
