Surfing with School of the World
Costa Rica features some of the world’s best surf spots. Jaco and its nearby beach town Hermosa are largely renowned as ‘surfer’s 
heaven’. The beaches present a large variety of breaks, isolated waves and a platform for every kind of surfer. School of the World utilizes the opportunity and arranges surf sessions right on the Jaco beach. There are specifically designed courses for beginners, intermediates and advanced surfers. Travelers can join a new surfing program with School of the World every week. They can combine it with different elements such as Yoga, Spanish classes and other activities. The surf lessons are conducted by professional surf instructors who have years of experience in Costa Rica. They are also certified in lifeguard training, first aid and CPR. The teachers make sure that students feel comfortable and pay them attention individually. Novices are taught all the basic stuff on the beach. When they have perfected each move, they are allowed to enter the ocean to pick up the waves. For intermediate and seasoned surfers, the classes are more advanced obviously. Hardcore surfers are often taken on guided expeditions to various surf spots around the area. Students can choose from intensive surfing, surfing and Spanish, surfing and photography, surfing and yoga, and surf balance training programs.
School of the World’s Accommodation
School of the World features an elegant, Asian-styled boutique hotel designed with hardwoods, bamboo, stained glass, ceramic sinks, mosaic floors, custom furniture, a zen waterfall fountain and intricate artistic details. The building is extremely beautiful and gives off warm, tropical vibe. There are 12 lavish guest rooms, a common kitchen, dinning area, Yoga studio, digital darkroom for photography classes, two Spanish classrooms and a tranquil garden. The building has a free wireless internet service, a swimming pool and a spacious area for hanging out. Guests can either share a room or lodge in a private room located upstairs. The building is a short walk away from the beach, restaurants, bars and other facilities.
